Ziggurat Games celebrates early Halloween with Softdisk Publishing’s two classic murder mystery RPGs in its Legends of Murder Collection.

Only a few days ago, the company released ExZeus: The Complete Collection, a double feature of on-rails shooter games, but those who want to have a bit more cerebral work can dive into a unique mix of role-playing and crime solving. It all started with Legends of Murder: Volume 1 – Stonedale Castle, released in 1989, in which one takes on the role of the Inspector who investigates the murder of the King in Stonedale Castle. As the Inspector is also a magician and good at fighting with his sword, it’s not only clues he finds by interrogating the castle’s inhabitants, but also some not so friendly enemies to dispose of.

Legends of Murder II: Grey Haven came out in 1991 and again features the Inspector who this time has to find the murderer of a wizard’s apprentic in the titular town. Gameplay-wise, the formula hasn’t changed: gaining experience points, using armor, weapons, spells on the hero or the enemis so that he can defend himself, while still following clues and questioning suspects or witnesses.

The game collection is out now on PC with a 33% launch discount that lasts until tomorrow, October 8, 2021, at 1 PM UTC.
