GOG release: “Gone Viral”

Skullbot Games and Akupara Games‘ arena-based top-down action game Gone Viral gives a whole new meaning to social media craziness on GOG.

Gone Viral takes the popular social media term and adds a bleak dystopian future twist to it as one’s goal is to survive in a prison arena that is all about violence and become the new social murderia star in this gory sport where weapons as well as traps are used to dispose of the opposition.

In order to please fans or followers, one should do as many bloody combos as possible and even react to the current wishes of those people, some of which can be part of the real Twitch community where voting can help or prevent one’s progress. Satisfying their bloodlust unlocks more upgrades and makes surviving that much easier. It’s what movies like Running Man or games like Smash TV predicted the medium could become, although thankfully it’s not with real people… yet.

Gone Viral was originally released in August 2021 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 30% launch discount that lasts until October 15, 2021, at 1 PM UTC. The soundtrack can also be bought separately and is currently 8% off its original price.
