GOG release: “The Shore”

Ares Dragonis‘ artful horror adventure game The Shore is another interesting DRM-free addition to the Lovecraftian library on GOG.

With the digital store’s current Halloween sale, it only makes sense that a few horror titles have been released as well. The Shore is probably a good place to start covering these, as any title inspired or based on H.P. Lovecraft’s work is worth investigating (and reviewing, as can be seen with a few games I’ve already featured here).

It tells the story of Andrew who is looking for his daughter gone missing, and it seems that not only her life but his sanity are in danger with cosmic horror soon taking over in the form of ancient and terrifying gods. Being a mix of survival horror, walking simulator, and adventure game, exploration and puzzle solving as well as escaping or fighting the impressive-looking terrors seem to be a perfect match for the author’s work.

The Shore was originally released in February 2021 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 40% launch discount that lasts until November 3, 2021, at 2 PM UTC.
