Amanita Design‘s psychedelic horror adventure game Happy Game shows the dark side of cuteness.

With so many games recently released before/during Halloween, it’s hard to keep up with them all, and it would be a shame not to discuss the Czech company’s latest offering. After CHUCHEL (see this game release news) warmed the hearts of many people and was child-friendly (as with all former titles), the newest game goes in a completely different direction.

Playing as a little boy who is trapped in a nightmare he can’t wake up from, one has to find a way out and maybe even bring back happiness. With smiley faces and pink bunnies involved, one should think this should be a fluffy dream to get lost in, but it seems that it all somehow falls apart, making for a disturbing puzzle adventure that is definitely not for everyone.

The game is out now on PC and Nintendo Switch with a 13% launch discount that lasts until November 4, 2021, at 2 PM UTC. It’s also available in a collector’s edition which includes the soundtrack and artbook.
