Red Martyr Entertainment and SOEDESCO‘s point-and-clicker Saint Kotar combines detective work and psychological horror.

Autumn seems to be the perfect time for some atmospheric adventures to play, so it’s no surprise to see this game released. One plays two characters who are quite unusual in the genre, as they’re both priests trying to find their missing relative in the town of Sveti Kotar. Benedek and Nikolay soon discover a secret about gruesome and occult murders, making the religious aspect all the more prominent.

Despite clearly being inspired by games like Black Mirror in terms of dark themes and settings, there are a few other parts that are familiar to those looking outside the standard point-and-clicker fare. Switching between two realities, as seen in The Medium, choices that change narrative and gameplay, in addition to hidden locations and even side tasks to help understanding the whole story seem to make it a title that is worth replaying, even if it looks and sounds a bit too low budget at times.

The game is out now on PC with a 10% launch discount that lasts until November 4, 2021, at 12 AM UTC.
