Epic Games Store‘s free games of the week are Counterplay Games/Gearbox Publishing‘s action-adventure Godfall: Challenger Edition and Double Eleven/Introversion Software/Paradox Interactive‘s prison management simulation Prison Architect.

Godfall: Challenger Edition is the definitive version of a game I covered on the first and fourth day of gamescom 2020. While I wasn’t particularly excited about the gameplay, at least the visuals held my attention for a while.

The new edition makes things a bit easier, as it unlocks a maximum level piece of armor, more skill points, and better weapons. The game still looks as generic as ever, but at least now it’s free to try out.
Prison Architect has been around for a long time and was also given away as a freebie during the GOG winter sale in 2017.

Managing a maximum security prison sounds like a lot of work, but with its satirical presentaiton, the game might also turn out to be a lot of guilty fun when putting inmates and security staff in their places.
Both games can now be added to the Epic Games Store account for free until tomorrow, December 16, 2021, at 5:00 PM.
