Nicalis, Inc. gives away a seasonal present on three digital platforms with stealth-puzzler Cave Story’s Secret Santa.
Just in time for Christmas and on my birthday I published the GOG release: “Cave Story+” article. What I didn’t have time for was to mention that a limited-time freebie by the same company, but with different gameplay, came out, too.
Unlike the action-platformer it’s based on, in Cave Story’s Secret Santa one uses one’s wits to sneak into people’s homes and bring back missing presents without waking them or being seen by enemies. Solving puzzles naturally requires some nourishment for the brain, and in this case it’s obviously cookies that can be eaten.
The game is now available for free on GOG, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, but only for a limited time: until January 8, 2022, at 8 AM UTC.
