GOG releases 2 more classic SSI games with Forthright Entertainment

After Forthright Entertainment and GOG brought back 3 classic SSI games, two more fantasy RPGs have now been added to the DRM-free library.

Demon’s Winter was originally released in 1986 as a conversion from the original Apple II version and tasks the player with finding appropriate spells to trap the demon-god Malifon who has laid a curse on the lands and seas one traverses.

One shouldn’t expect anything revolutionary in terms of gameplay, as one explores an expansive world, defeats monsters and loots as much as possible to level up.

Shard of Spring came out in 1987 and is yet another fantasy RPG converted from the Apple II to PC. It’s about a group of adventurers trying to get back the titular stolen shard to save the world from ruin if it isn’t returned in time.

Creating a party of various races and classes is the order of the day, as one dives right into dungeons to fight enemies in turn-based battles.

Both games are now available DRM-free on GOG with 20% launch discounts that last until January 20, 2021, at 2 PM UTC.
