Motion Twin and Evil Empire‘s rogue-lite Metroidvania action-platformer Dead Cells got even wilder with the The Queen and the Sea DLC.

Despite having covered the original title and the “The Bad Seed” DLC in their respective release news articles, I haven’t come around actually playing either of them, so it might be time for a complete edition after the newest instalment. I also skipped the Fatal Falls DLC, come to think of it.

The Queen and the Sea offers the chance to escape a island in the middle of nowhere by making one’s way through an infested shipwreck and a lighthouse, all the while fighting against the Queen’s Guardians who try everything to prevent this and kill the hero. The 9 new weapons that can be used to dispose of enemies are pretty weird, to say the least, including a shark that can be thrown, a trident and a pirate hook hand.

The DLC is out now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox One Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, with the base game and The Bad Seed having 50% discounts, in addition to 30% off the original price of Fatal Falls. All the offers last until January 20, 2022, at 5 PM UTC.
