Game release: “Kurokami-sama’s Feast” (PC)

Minato Carnival World and JAST USA‘s visual novel adventure game Kurokami-sama’s Feast is an acquired taste in a very literal sense.

There’s something to be said about the crazy plots and characters many Japanese games provide, and this is a very strange one not everyone will like. Starring young manga artist Domaru who joins a group that tries to learn about the occult, the game revolves around him on the lookout for his next magnum opus. What he ends up with is Kurokami-sama, a woman that tasks him to hunt and kill spirits so that she can eat them.

It’s a very weird idea and while there are lots of references to Japanese mythology, the game also offers a bit of combat with Domaru using spiritual energy for reading minds and attacking his opponents. The creatures that have to become food obviously live among the Japanese people, and depending on the choices one makes, Domaru might serve or disobey the woman with a strange taste, resulting in multiple endings.

The game is out now on PC with a 10% launch discount that lasts until tomorrow, January 28, 2022, at 8 AM UTC.
