GOG release: “The Dark Prophecy”

Start Warp and Meridian4‘s point-and-clicker The Dark Prophecy keeps a DRM-free fantasy world alive on GOG.

The Dark Prophecy is one of those titles that is instantly appealing because of its pixel art and medieval setting, as one plays the boy Jacob who has to save his village and the whole kingdom from the titular danger. As magic also becomes important, it’s clear that his quest isn’t an ordinary one.

Despite the great premise for an adventure and some lovely graphics, it seems that there’s a major problem with the translation work. The trailer alone has quite a few grammar, spelling, and vocabulary mistakes which can’t only be found in the teaser but also in the dialogues and item or environmental descriptions. Hopefully these can be fixed or aren’t as numerous as they seem, because the whole package itself is a charming love letter to 90ies adventure games.

The Dark Prophecy was originally released in February 2022 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 30% launch discount that lasts until tomorrow, March 20, 2022, at 2 PM UTC.
