Epic Games Store has a new freebie with Cellar Door Games‘ action-platformer Rogue Legacy and an older one with The Astronauts‘ first-person mystery adventure The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.

Rogue Legacy was already reviewed almost a decade ago (time really flies by) and is a rogue-lite that combines platforming and action sequences, while also adding a nice RPG twist to proceedings.

The main difference to other rogue-lites is that one doesn’t take control of the same character, but of his or her descendants. These can either come with some buffs or defects, making each new run or try through dungeons different.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is another title I wrote a review about, but which was also an Epic Games Store freebie last year, so I’ll keep it short and sweet.

It’s basically an exploration game about a private detective trying to solve a murder case and the disappearance of a boy, which is all tied together by a supernatural theme. Great graphics and music aside, it has its gameplay problems, but is still worth investigating or rather experiencing.
Both games can now be added to the Epic Games Store account for free until April 14, 2022, at 5:00 PM.
