GOG release: “Bee Simulator”

VARSAV Game Studios and Nacon‘s nature simulation game Bee Simulator buzzes around GOG for the first time.

I saw Bee Simulator in action way back in 2018 during a gamescom press appointment, and it still remains a uniquely quirky experience that looks quite lovely with the Unreal Engine 4 and sounds great with a soothing soundtrack by Mikołaj Stroiński who was responsible for the scores of titles like The Witcher 3 and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (see the review).

As a honeybee one explores a setting that is inspired by New York Central Park to achieve multiple objectives given by the Queen, with the ultimate goal to save the hive. But one has to be careful, as it’s not all carefree flights, with humans and wasps serving as enemies. There are three different modes to play: one to experience the aforementioned story, one to simply explore the park, and one with a split-screen mode that can either be done in a cooperative or competitive way.

Bee Simulator was originally released in November 2020 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 65% launch discount that lasts until tomorrow, May 27, 2022, at 1 PM UTC.
