Kagura Games delivers more anime fantasy action with Circle Gyu‘s JRPG Knights of Messiah.

After having written so many articles about the publisher’s games it’s clear that their love for RPG Maker-style gameplay and risqué presentation of female protagonists is shown in this new title once again. As Alicia, the princess of Mordouna, together with a group of other heroes, one tries to save her country from monsters, enemy armies and rebels, while still keeping their dignity (or their clothes).

Gameplay is a rather standard turn-based combat affair, but with some beautifully hand-drawn monsters and generally nice backgrounds, it’s obvious why nostalgia plays a big part, too. Embarking on a quest across a large world or taking on multiple side quests is well-known in the genre, but being a Kagura Games title, the relationships one forms with the heroes is probably the selling point for most.

The game is out now on PC with a 10% launch discount that lasts until tomorrow, June 6, 2022, at 1 PM UTC (but only on GOG). As always there’s a free unrated patch, too.
