GOG free game: “BEAUTIFUL DESOLATION”

GOG’s fourth freebie of the Summer Sale is THE BROTHERHOOD‘s sci-fi adventure game BEAUTIFUL DESOLATION.

BEAUTIFUL DESOLATION was already featured in this game release news, being another game from the development studio responsible for free games STASIS (see the review) and CAYNE (see the chat review with Later Levels editor Kim). Once again, the studio shows what indies can do with impressive visuals and sound design, although the latter comes from composer Mick Gordon who did work on AAA titles like Wolfenstein, DOOM, Prey, Killer Instinct and even Need for Speed.

One plays Mark who is looking for his brother Don in a dystopian future that is controlled by advanced technolgy. Despite clearly being a point-and-clicker with an emphasis on puzzle solving, there’s a fair bit of decision-making and even combat sequences, as one meets all sorts of people and creatures.

BEAUTIFUL DESOLATION can be downloaded for free until June 20, 2022, at 1 PM UTC. The Summer Sale runs until June 27, 2022, at 9:59 PM UTC and there will be 2 more freebies in the coming days/week.
