18Light Game Ltd. and Joy Brick Inc.‘s metroidvania game Pronty opens a beautiful but dangerous underwater world to explore.

There are many metroidvania games these days, but few feature a character as strange as merboy Pronty and his trusty Bront the Javelin, a robotic swordfish. In Pronty, they try to fight back against sea creatures contaminated by toxic waste.

While one explores the underwater city of Royle, one unlocks new abilities and upgrades which are important for overcoming obstacles and bigger enemies. Bront is used for most of these puzzles or battles, though. It all looks like an animated movie at times thanks to some wonderful character and enemy designs as well as fluid animations and imaginative backgrounds.

Pronty was originally released in November 2021 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 30% launch discount that lasts until June 30, 2022, at 1 PM UTC. The soundtrack can also be bought separately with 27% off its original price.
