GOG release: “The Inheritance of Crimson Manor”

MediaCity Games‘ Gothic escape room/adventure game The Inheritance of Crimson Manor puts puzzles into DRM-free places on GOG.

The Inheritance of Crimson Manor is about a private assistant of the railroad magnate Hadley Strange whose sudden death tasks him to take care of his Victorian mansion outside London. Of course there’s a secret to be uncovered, as one receives a mysterious letter with cryptic instructions on his arrival, leading to the true nature and history of the strange man.

What follows are various logic puzzles that usually involve mechanical devices. As one explores the 24 rooms of the mansion in a non-linear fashion, one finds more secrets and obviously more items that are required to progress. It all sounds a bit like Sherlock Holmes and The Hound of the Baskervilles (see the review), but that’s certainly no bad thing, as it was highly immersive, too.

The Inheritance of Crimson Manor was originally released in May 2022 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 33% launch discount that lasts until July 6, 2022, at 1 PM UTC.
