GOG release: “TOEM”

Something We Made‘s photo adventure game TOEM takes DRM-free pictures on GOG.

There are way too many games that can add more stress to an already stressful week, and then there’s something as simple and calming as TOEM: a game about exploring a world with a camera to solve puzzles and help people.

The monochromatic graphics and soothing soundtrack create a charming atmosphere that is reminiscent of a relaxed summer vacation. Sometimes the simplest things in life can lead to the best gameplay ideas, as one walks around all sorts of fun places and takes pictures of animals as well as people. Without anything else to go on except the trailer, it’s a game that reminds me of the great A Short Hike (see the review) which wasn’t big on story, but put a smile on my face, anyway.

TOEM was originally released in September 2021 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 40% launch discount that lasts until July 7, 2022, at 1 PM UTC. The soundtrack can also be bought separately with the same discount.
