Game release: “Mari and Bayu – The Road Home” (PC)

Skinny Bandit and PID Games‘ colorful platformer Mari and Bayu – The Road Home offers family-friendly co-op entertainment.

Despite clearly aiming towards a multiplayer experience, the game and its story about ant Mari and her magical firefly friend Bayu looking for her brother Tom can still be enjoyed by one player. In both cases, one can decide which character to take control of, with each one offering a different play-style.

The biggest selling point of the title is probably the way the miniaturized world is presented, as insects as well as humans become a threat to the duo. Even if it caters to a younger audience, the boss designs look quite creepy. This is a compliment, though, as the animation work could be right out of a movie, making everything so life-like, being reminiscent of the good old Pixar times when there was still a bit of creativity left in the company.

The game is out now on PC with a 10% launch discount that lasts until July 26, 2022, at 3 PM UTC.
