Game release: “Banners of Ruin: The Powdermaster” DLC (PC)

MonteBearo and Goblinz Publishing‘s card-building strategy game Banners of Ruin becomes even more explosive with the The Powdermaster DLC.

It’s been a year since I previewed the base game, and while there have been countless other card-building titles, few have taken a brutal medieval setting and placed animals in it. The turn-based combat hasn’t changed and one shouldn’t expect a new story, though, as the DLC simply focuses on the new hero character one can use to play the compaign again. However, there are 3 new enemies and 7 scenarios to mix things up a bit during the journey.

The Powdermaster can mix powder cards, throw them away and then collect stacks of the new and appropriately named status effect Boom. Being able to use the character’s Grenade certainly adds to more explosive situations, and with 10 Powdermaster talents in total, one can experiment even more in order to make sure that the furry hero survives each enemy encounter.

The DLC is out now on PC with a 10% launch discount that lasts until tomorrow, August 5, 2022, at 5 PM UTC.
