New additions to the media collection in August 2022

August 2022 put many comics, but also a few movies on the collector shelves.

It seems that the subscription problems have been solved, as I again received both my Retro Gamer and EDGE magazines with the expected delay of 3 weeks, except for this issue that was lost in the mail three months ago.

With this amazing artwork to boot, having missed out on the issue would have been more than a little bit sad.

US-Comicversand Harald Grimm again delivered on both quality and prices with these comics.

Comic Room Hamburg finally managed to ship my order I placed months ago… and now the replacement of Blood In His Wake being damaged and the free comic of Trese again being the wrong version, it’s only understandable why I won’t order much or anything from the store in the future… although the next order worked much more smoothly.

I was quite happy when I got these OOP comics for reasonable prices, although The Punisher was more than I would usually pay for a book. At least it was under 100 EUR.

Fingers crossed I’ll have time to read these horror stories in time for Halloween.

The same goes for another Junji Ito collection that will be scarier and more disturbing for sure.

As I don’t have Netflix anymore but heard good things about this animated movie, I had to get it, especially since it was just under 5 EUR. Fortunately, it was really great, beating almost anything Disney or Pixar has come up lately.

Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead is certainly not a good movie, but it has its entertaining moments, and I’d choose it over most other pretentious horror flicks with a message these days.

88 Films again shows its love for Hong Kong cinema with this trilogy. I won’t go so far saying these are masterpieces, but they have some great fighting sequences.

Last month certainly put some weight on the shelves with all these comic books and even if I haven’t come around reading them (right now I’m going through the Sookie Stackhouse books I got in December 2021), it was nice to only have a few movies to finish watching when I got them (at the moment no time for that as I’m watching the Friday the 13th TV show I acquired way back in April 2021 [and which I now found out didn’t receive a photo, which has been rectified]).
