Game release: “The Outbound Ghost” (PC)

Conradical Games and Digerati‘s adventure RPG The Outbound Ghost shows that paper-style characters can still put up a fight.

Clearly inspired by the Paper Mario series in both visuals and gameplay, but available on PC first, this game is about ghosts trying to reach the afterlife. Taking place in the town of Outbound, the story revolves around the player helping them to find peace, leaving behind their past lives and move on.

This might not always go without a fight, though, and as one recruits party members that were formerly figments of one’s own past personality, it’s obvious that there’s not only a bit of humor, but also maturity to be found here. It goes without saying that the 2.5D graphics with the paper-style characters are excellent, and it certainly helps that the voice acting is accomplished, too, when delivering plenty of quirky lines.

The game is out now on PC with a 20% launch discount that lasts until September 27, 2022, at 5 PM UTC.
