I haven’t had my experience with robot vaccum cleaners yet, but I always thought one can’t really leave them alone, as they could clean up all sorts of things that aren’t supposed to be cleaned up. However, the main idea of this title shows that they could have much better uses: protecting its owners from burglars. As Dusty, the household vaccuum robot of the McClean home, suddenly forgets about his protocols and attacks the uninvited guests, it is accidentally thrown into the living room TV by the warranty squad of FamilyCorp only to wake up in an alternative 90ies dimension he has to escape from.
The story should already be applauded for its bonkers premise, but of course the gameplay becomes just as crazy and surprisingly gory. With the help of its spirit form and newly acquired abilities Dusty rebels against FamilyCorp to save the McClean family, and this entails sucking up objects and hitting enemies with deadly precision. Cleaning up their blood and human remains is essential to power up and unleash even more carnage. It’s also possible to hack smart devices to create messy traps, which showcases just how weird the game gets.
The game is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch with a 10% launch discount (but only on GOG) that lasts until September 28, 2022, at 1 PM UTC.
