New additions to the media collection in September 2022

Collecting in September 2022 was particularly good for some new comic book acquisitions.

I’m pretty happy about both Retrogamer and EDGE magazines to regularly arrive in their exclusive subscriber cover editions, even if they’re not always in pristine condition with tears on the sides.

After my experience with OOP comics, it’s probably best to continue buying these collections when they are published. Thanks to the Bonner Comic Laden, I was lucky enough to get this for a fair price and in top condition when it was (again) not available on Amazon on its release date.

I couldn’t believe that The Mask Omnibus – Volume 2 finally got its second edition after being difficult to find for such a long time.

Speaking of such a long time, this was a real bargain: I only paid 40 EUR for the last Punisher Max: The Complete Collection. Volume 7 has been going for ridiculous prices and I was already losing hope to get it for less than 200 EUR (which I simply wasn’t willing to pay), but then it showed up on ebay via a German seller and of course I grabbed it ASAP.

Another very heavy tome to read and with the fourth compendium announced for December this year, I might not even be able to finish it before then.

I had so many problems with Comic Room Hamburg due to delayed and even damaged orders that they didn’t only offer me a 10 EUR price reduction for the Spawn book, but also put some free comics in the package. Maybe I’ll re-think my decision not buying there again… at least when it comes to new releases that are actually available…

Last but not least, one movie made it into the collection, one that is a bit difficult to recommend if one expects a comedy, as it’s often heavy drama material. While not perfect and not as good as something like Little Miss Sunshine or other indies, I didn’t regret having bought this for around 3 EUR.

So that was actually everything I bought last month, and my bank account was all the better for it, not to mention the limited shelf space… which is becoming more of a problem every month.
