Epic Games Store‘s latest freebies are Sword & Axe LLC/Freedom Games‘s JRPG Dark Deity and Saber Interactive‘s co-op survival horror game Evil Dead: The Game.

Dark Deity is as classic as JRPGs come in the form of presentation and gameplay, presenting the player with a group of students of the Brookstead Military Academy who are destined to bring peace to the war-torn world of Terrazael.

Combining turn-based combat with RPG elements that offer varied gameplay styles due to 54 classes and 30 playable characters, the title offers plenty of replay value as well as decisions to be made along the way.
Evil Dead: The Game is probably the coolest multiplayer title I’ve seen in a while, and it’s a shame that there’s no single-player option, as one takes control of anti-hero Ash and his friends from the “Evil Dead” movies to fight against demons.

The fantastic TV show Ash vs. Evil Dead (see the Amazon Prime Video watchlist: April 2018 article) is another clear inspiration for a game that is full of over-the-top violence and gore, which is how it should be when it comes to these kinds of adaptations.
Both games can now be added to the Epic Games Store account for free until tomorrow, November 24, 2022, at 5:00 PM.
