Epic Games Store‘s new freebie is EA/Motive Studios‘ epic space sim Star Wars: Squadrons.

After having already been a part of the Amazon Prime Gaming free games in October 2021 line-up and being one of my favorite games during gamescom 2020, at least when it came to the VR experience (which I still have to try out with the PS4 version), it’s great to have Star Wars: Squadron featured in the Epic Games Store.

It’s no secret that the Star Wars universe is in desperate need for some bombastic space fights, and it’s here where the game delivers, even with its single-player campaign. Being a big fan of X-Wing and TIE Fighter, my expectations for the simulation part are obviously smaller due to the console nature, but it’s still amazing to see these battles in action.

The game can now be added to the Epic Games Store account for free until December 1, 2022, at 5:00 PM.

Played Squadrons a while back, really enjoyed it. Lots of fun to play with friends.
I gave the VR mode a try and it was pretty awesome. I’m a sucker for single-player campaigns, but I can imagine the multiplayer mode rocks, too.
Star Wars Squadrons is a lot of fun and the main single-player campaign is really good as well. The multiplayer is great and really exciting. They did add a few more ships after launch as I remember. I used to like playing as a Y Wing or a TIE Interceptor best!
Seems like I really have to give it a try… whenever I’ll have the time… which is a bit difficult at the moment.
That’s what I often find. I’m so busy writing now I don’t always have much free time, takes me ages to play video games LOL! I’d certainly recommend Squadrons though if you get a chance. One for you to try over the Holliday season perhaps? That’s when I usually chill out and binge on some video games. 🙂
When I’m not busy writing, I’m busy playing/watching the things I write about. But now with my newborn, I don’t even know when that’ll be. I guess it won’t be before next Halloween ;-). Chilling out sounds so good at the moment and the near future and I’m looking forward to it…
