Epic Games Store‘s newest freebies are CookieByte Entertainment/All in! Games‘s turn-based fantasy strategy RPG Fort Triumph and Justin Arnold‘s DIY game maker tools RPG in a Box.

Fort Triumph was already featured in this game release news and its cartoon-y presentation is still hilarious to watch, e.g. seeing all sorts of things fall down on enemies to crush them.

Of course there’s more to the tongue-in-cheek slaughter than meets the eye, namely a lot of strategy that is required to beat missions with various objectives and quite a few party members to choose from.
RPG in a Box is a perfect gift for someone who always wanted to try doing better on a special kind of genre, although one shouldn’t expect blockbuster visuals with the tools at hand.

Making games can be complicated for those who don’t have the necessary programming knowledge, but this title is much more beginner-friendly, giving interested designers pre-made graphics and sounds, but also enough room for customization and experimentation.
Both games can now be added to the Epic Games Store account for free until tomorrow, December 8, 2022, at 5:00 PM.
