GOG release: “Fabled Lands”

Prime Games‘s open-world RPG Fabled Lands brings old-school gamebooks back to life on GOG.

Fabled Lands is based on the original gamebooks that were written by Dave Morris and Jamie Thomson, and those who don’t know what these are can simply imagine a book which can be read in multiple ways by making decisions along the way. Here one can be everyone (explorer, merchant, priest, wizard, etc.) and embark on grand adventures, in this case taking place in a kingdom torn apart by war and a revolution starting.

One doesn’t only create one’s own character, but also engages in tactical combat. Still, the heart of the experience lies in discovery and adapting to new situations accordingly, while coming out alive after being thrown into all sorts of quests to take and decisions to make. It’s even possible be a captain of a ship and its crew, setting sail and exploring the world.

Fabled Lands was originally released in May 2022 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 40% launch discount that lasts until December 12, 2022, at 2 PM UTC.
