Epic Games Store‘s newest freebie is Fishing Cactus and PID Games‘s 3D typing action-adventure Epistory – Typing Chronicles.
Epistory – Typing Chronicles was already covered in this GOG release news and is still a unique title thanks to its idea of using the keyboard as a weapon. The story is about a writer lacking the words and using her muse for finishing her new book.
Meta-fictional elements aside, the game offers some great-looking paper-crafted worlds. Everything is done via typing in words, i.e. moving around and fighting. What is particularly cool is the option to play the game in all kinds of languages as well as in a competitive arena mode. Those who aren’t as quick with typing can rest easy with having an adaptive difficulty in the back of their minds that makes the journey more enjoyable.
The game can now be added to the Epic Games Store account for free until January 26, 2023, at 5:00 PM.
