GOG release: “REKKR: Sunken Land”

Mockingbird Softworks‘s retro FPS REKKR: Sunken Land goes back in time on GOG.

REKKR: Sunken Land is a clear indication that one can’t put down the classic shooters of old, in this case Doom or Heretic, with a storyline that is only an excuse for lots of gory action: After seeing one’s home village destroyed and both family and friends murdered by monsters, bloody revenge is the only answer.

This is delivered with 7 weapons that deal plenty of damage, usually leaving behind a trail of entrails. Inspired by dark fantasy, but also a bit of sci-fi, it’s no surprise to make the titular land into a lost world of an old magic-tech civilization. So variety in both combat tools and levels are a given, which also holds true for the pixel graphics that hark back to the 90ies.

REKKR: Sunken Land was originally released in October 2021 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 33% launch discount that lasts until January 27, 2023, at 2 PM UTC.
