Epic Games Store‘s new freebie is 34BigThings and Saber Interactive‘s futuristic racer Redout 2.
While I haven’t covered Redout 2 in any article, I have discussed the previous games in the series with the Epic Games Store free games: “Jotun: Valhalla Edition” + “Prey (2017)” + “Redout: Enhanced Edition” and Game release: “Redout: Space Assault” posts. Being clearly inspired by classic sci-fi racers like Wipeout or F-Zero, it delivers on everything one loves about the genre, as it throws the player into various dystopian racetracks in an almost abandoned Earth for a galactic sports event.
Speed, speed, speed is what it’s all about in this anti-gravity racer, and the tracks look absolutely fantastic. Accompanied by a thumping electronic soundtrack, one flies across 36 tracks with one’s highly customizable hovership. The Careers Mode doesn’t only include the usual suspects like Last Man Standing or Time Attacks, but also Arena Races and even Boss Races. Of course playing against 12 players online should bring more excitement, too.
The game can now be added to the Epic Games Store account for free until June 20, 2024, at 5:00 PM.
