Game release: “Songs of Conquest” (PC)

Lavapotion and Coffee Stain Publishing‘s fantasy strategy game Songs of Conquest gets its hero time outside Early Access.

The inspirations for the title are clear to see with Heroes of Might & Magic, as one leads the Wielders, powerful magicians, to strange lands for acquiring artifacts and expanding one’s realm. This obviously doesn’t come without a fight, as four factions are in eternal conflict with each other.

There’s still a lot of love for the long-running Heroes franchise, and the development team’s passion can be seen in gameplay and presentation, as one goes against all sorts of fantastic creatures while looking for treasure and expanding one’s army. A nice touch is certainly that each campaign offers a unique song that tells the tale of one’s progress, as one unlocks new verses after completing missions and thus has the full track at the end of the game.

The game entered early access in May 2022 and is now finally out on PC in its 1.0 version with a 20% launch discount that lasts until May 27, 2024, at 3 PM UTC. The same holds true for the artbook. There’s also a separate soundtrack and Supporter Upgrade which includes a main menu golden frame, Wielder pets, and two additional team colors.
