GOG release: “Overrogue”

Exe Create Inc. and KEMCO‘s roguelite card deck-building JRPG Overrogue shows its DRM-free hands on GOG.

Roguelite games, JRPGs and card battles have been so popular lately that it was only a matter of time before they would be combined in a title like Overrogue. While the concept and execution isn’t as fresh as Dance of Cards (see yesterday’s GOG release news), it’s still a neat idea to have creatures in the underworld use card games to decide who becomes the next Overlord.

This is achieved by completing dungeon-like labyrinths and collecting crystals. With over 300 types of cards and 150 treasures, in addition to 5 different labyrinth themes based on card genres, there’s certainly more than one more go when playing the game, one that also features some lovely pixel art and catchy music.

Overrogue was originally released in July 2022 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 20% launch discount that lasts until tomorrow, June 14, 2024. One can also buy the Award Swap per Square and Award Card Choices +1 DLCs without any discount which apparently change the gameplay a bit.
