GOG release: “Quilts and Cats of Calico”

Monster Couch and Flatout Games‘ cozy board game Quilts and Cats of Calico lands on DRM-free fabric of GOG.

I already covered Quilts and Cats of Calico in the Past gaming events: gamescom 2023 (quick overview with social media) article and was obviously taken in with its subject matter and lovely presentaton, but there’s much more than just cute cats walking and purring over fabric.

The main goal is to make a quilt from fabric scraps with patterns and colors that have to be combined for points, while sewing on buttons attracts the animals, with each having a preference for where they lay down. There’s also a story mode that is inspired by Studio Ghibli in which cats have great power and influece over people’s lives… so it’s reality alright.

Quilts and Cats of Calico was originally released in March 2024 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 20% launch discount that lasts until June 20, 2024, at 4 PM UTC. It can also be bought as an Special Edition which includes the soundtrack. In addition, one can get the Birds and Cats Special Edition which also has the game Wingspan (see the GOG release news), its soundtrack, the two DLCs European Expansion and Oceania Expansion (see the game release news), plus the Seasonal Decorative Pack.
