Epic Games Store free games: “The Big Con” and “Town of Salem 2”

Epic Games Store‘s new freebies are Mighty Yell/Skybound Games‘ road trip comedy adventure The Big Con and BlankMediaGames‘ online whodunnit strategy game Town of Salem 2.

The Big Con seems to have garnered quite a good reputation with its 10/10 Steam Store scores and it’s probably due to the 90ies American presentation which involves high school girl Ali who goes on a cross-country road trip in order to prevent her family video store from loan sharks closing it down.

What makes this endeavor particularly difficult is that one has to swindle, pickpocket, and con as many people as possible. Even if this isn’t a very nice way of earning money, it’s all tongue-in-cheek sitcom material with a coming-of-age story at its heart.

Town of Salem 2 also involves deceit, but of a different kind, as it takes place in a historically well-known location in the US where murder and survival were common during the witch trials. However, the presentation is more cartoon-like.

Promoted as a social deduction adventure, the gameplay focuses on player interaction with up to 15 in online matches. It’s very similar to the Werewolves games, as one has to figure out which roles the townspeople play and also trying to conceal one’s own identity.

Both games can now be added to the Epic Games Store account for free until tomorrow, April 25, 2024, at 5:00 PM (although Town of Salem 2 is already a free-to-play title).
