Disney+ watchlist: July 2020

Disney+ in July 2020 offered very special reasons to celebrate, namely weddings.

After Decorating Disney: Holiday Magic (see Disney+ watchlist: June 2020) already showed that it’s possible to sell the Disneyland theme parks by presenting them in all their seasonal glory, Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, particularly the Holiday Special, again proves that it’s often enough to have settings like Disney World, Disneyland or the Disney Cruise Line to entertain the audience. Pulling at the heart strings or rather tear ducts is accomplished by telling emotional background stories of some couples that are quite touching. While it’s clear that these weddings and couples were chosen to sell more, even if some people will never have the money for them, there’s still enough Disney magic left to make these specials charming to watch. They might give people ideas for future proposals as well.

Disney+ still knows how to make people excited about their theme parks, and combining this with weddings was probably a no-brainer that turned out quite well.
