Pre-orders of games can often be a hit or miss, but if GOG throws in the recently released Furi, then Sloclap‘s fighting game Absolver is a sweet proposition.
I already covered the release of Furi that is only a month old, so if you want to learn more about it, please feel free to read the article. It’s fitting to use it as a pre-order incentive, because just like Absolver, it’s all about combat mechanics, although The Game Baker’s title only takes places in one-on-one arenas.
Absolver has up to three-on-three battles, telling the story of people fighting each other to become part of the elite corps of Absolvers. Playing as someone with a mysterious mask after waking up in the ruins of the fallen Adal Empire, the goal is to learn new combat styles, acquire weapons, gear and armor, and find a team of warriors who help fighting in various arenas. This isn’t simply a button-mashing brawler, as real-time battles require tactics with attacks, dodges, and parries. While the game features a single-player campaign, it focuses more on online competitive PvP and PvE encounters. It already looks quite impressive with fluid movements and some great backgrounds in addition to realistic character models, so this is a title to keep an eye on.
The game will release on August 29, 2017 and can be pre-ordered with a 10% discount that will last until it’s out. The same holds true for the Deluxe Edition which includes a 52-page art book and the game’s soundtrack. Furi will automatically be added for immediate free download before, and if you already own it, then you can contact the GOG support team to get a copy which you can gift to a friend.
