Sometimes there are events or visits to places which don’t really fit into the gaming or movies sections, and 2015 had quite a few of those. Due to some personal reasons and time management, Reasons for writing and not writing was a good way of starting the daily blogging routine again. It’s always difficult to find motivation for something if you’re not paid for it, but if you really get into it, then a short break can’t heart, even if it can turn out to be a longer one. The important thing is that you don’t feel forced to write anything that’s not to your liking or quality standards.
So it was with much surprise and also joy to receive the “Encouraging Thunder” Blogger Award from blogger Raymond. I learned a lot of things from him and his blog, and it was always nice to read his comments and post on his site. Unfortunately lots of other stuff occupied my time, something that is always a problem if you want to stay in touch with your fellow bloggers or readers. That’s why I’ll try to find a time slot each day to see what others are up to and return the favor if they like my posts. More comments would of course be great, but then again knowing from experience from another website, this isn’t always a good thing (read: spam and trolls).
Something that has always interested me was visiting theme parks, and even if Dismaland seems to be the antithesis of what fun is, this could very well lead to a new category and a series of theme park cover stories. Of course the UK version would have made for a very cool trip, but with tickets sold out, long queues and the distance to cover, this wasn’t really an option.
If one can’t talk about anything, then the weather is always a nice chit chat, small talk way of starting a conversation. But if it’s as bad as the Apocalyptic weather in NRW, Germany, with storms and train delays, then it’s really no laughing matter. Maybe this year we’ll have some normal weather again, but with winter striking back late again, this might have to wait.
Waiting for a phenomenon like the total eclipse was another matter some people saw and some people didn’t see. Sometimes it’s better not to believe the hype. I took a school trip a long time ago to watch it, and having everyone wearing those special paper glasses was more interesting than the actual event. Well, you can’t have everything.
Did you experience anything worth writing or commenting about last year that wasn’t game, movie or book-related? Then please share your moments with me!
