Night School Studio‘s adventure game Afterparty finally brings DRM-free drinking in hell to other digital PC platforms than the Epic Games Store.

Epic Games Store exclusivity and console versions seem to become quite a thing these days for indie developers, as Afterparty was originally released on only one digital PC store, with the Xbox One and PS4 following suit in October 2019. Now after making its Nintendo Switch debut in March this year, PC users who prefer GOG and Steam can finally experience this strange game, too.

The premise couldn’t be any stranger, as best friends Milo and Lola end up in hell, with the only possible escape being to outdrink Satan so that they can return to Earth. Parallels to the developer’s former game Oxenfree are only that these are teenagers, but the rest is much funnier and less adventure-y. One still has conversations with various characters, but one is more concerned with mini-games like beer pong, dance-offs, and obviously drinking as much as possible. Depending on one’s decisions and replies, one can also change Milo and Lola’s personalities, making it an experience in hell that might warrant another play.

The game is out now on GOG and Steam with a 20% launch discount that lasts until November 2, 2020, at 2 PM UTC.
